When I started this website, I had the goal of blogging once a week to discuss change processes for others interested in making life changes, as well as changes that I was experiencing in my life. This, on the surface, appeared to be a small thing. Three or four paragraphs of text a week talking about something that I’m quite passionate about and want to share with others. Well…
That’s right, I’ve not done very well with my goal. I started strong and then things happened and then I started to make excuses and several months later my change has been anything but consistent. Honestly, I hate to admit it, but my human lack of perfection must be faced, just like everyone else that has a desire, sets a goal and then realizes they were less than successful in obtaining it.
My plan moving forward is to keep the goal, give myself credit for the blogs I have written, and then think hard about how I can structure my life and hold myself accountable to writing and posting more. It’s important in the change process to evaluate your progress often to ensure that you are truly changing something that needs to be changed, that you have fully thought through the process and committed to it, that you have broken down the steps and barriers as much as possible, and that you are giving yourself credit when you make progress. If there is lack of progress the frequent evaluation will help determine how you can adjust the effort and be more successful with the change.
Through the entire process I want you to give yourself a lot of grace. Remember that change can be difficult and just making the effort should be acknowledged. Hopefully doing this often can bring you and me the results we desire!
